The next quarterly meeting for Overbrook Shores Homeowners Association will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 10:30 am. The locaton is the Milton Public Library, 121 Union Street, in the large meeting room on the second floor. We recommend that people come starting at 10:15 to sign in and get settled -- we like to start the meeting on time. It's an open meeting and everyone is welcome...but only Owners in good standing (dues are paid) may vote.

Neighbors are invited to decorate your yards for Halloween. The contest will be judged around twilight on Friday, October 30. Judges will be looking for creative, scary, and original designs. Have some fun and get your BOO on!

Trick or Treating will take place on Halloween, Saturday, October 31. The traditional hours for this are 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm...however, with the skies getting dark earlier, you might want to be prepared for early birds. If you are participating...please leave your porch light ON. If you prefer not to participate this year, please keep your porch light OFF for the evening. Trick-or-treaters should not stop at houses with the porch light OFF.

If you still have a copper-wire landline, please note: Verizon has petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to stop servicing landlines -- it's considered old technology and is very expensive to maintain. The FCC has "paused" approval...but it is not clear for how long. These exchanges are definitely affected: (302) 644-XXXX, (302) 645-XXXX, and (302) 648-XXXX. If you want to avoid service disruption, and especially if you want to keep your current number, you need to make new arrangements. You can work with your current provider (Verizon is the only one in the area with copper wire installations), or select another provider and take your number with you.

Many of you know our neighbor, long-time resident and first OSHA President Bill Collick. He has been selected to receive the 2026 DSU Foundation Felmon D. Motley Community Service Award. The OSHA Community Picnic was held on Saturday, September 19. What fun! The weather was perfect. Cap'n Jim Haynes kindly provided rides around Red Mill Pond on his pontoon. around 70 people attended. Many brought side dishes and desserts to complement the fried chicken provided by OSHA. Fun Size played familiar "oldies" for our listening and dancing pleasure. Huge thanks to the Picnic Committee for their work organizing, setting up, hosting, and cleaning up: Linde Haynes (chair), Adrienne Scott, Jean and Jay Quinn, Dan and Sue McEntire, Patrick and Denise Maloney, Beth and Ken Marren, Paul Tocco, and Nannette Bassette.

New President: The OSHA Board welcomes Steve Davis as our new President! He has already joined the Board, and will be confirmed by voting members of OSHA at the next General Meeting on October 31.

Volunteers needed! The OSHA Board Secretary position is open, as Eleanor Evans has had to step aside for family reasons. And we need a new Chair of the Architectural Review Committee.
