Trees

Our natural resources are one of our most valuable assets. Our trees slow down the winter winds, help keep our air clean, provide us with lots of oxygen, and help to slow down water runoff from rainfalls.

Tree Management

1. Before altering any tree, Association members are responsible to determine ownership by consulting a certified survey or by contacting the MGCA Tree Committee Chair.
2. Association members are strongly encouraged to consult the Rules & Regulations' Tree Rule for any issue pertaining to tree care.
3. Members who have any concern about a tree should submit that concern by logging into their Owner portal on the MGCA.org website, choosing "Requests" from the left menu, creating a "New Request", and selecting "Tree Removal/Concern" from the drop-down menu.
4. If planting a new or replacement tree, Members are required to plant native trees on their property. The MGCA will only plant native trees on MGCA property. A list of native trees is below.
